Physical security of data centres: 8 risks that are often underestimated

It is 02:17 when a delivery van pulls up at the entrance to a data centre. The driver is wearing workwear from a well-known technical supplier and explains that he has been called out due to a fault. His story sounds plausible, and the company he claims to work for regularly visits the site. There is just one problem: his visit is not recorded anywhere. The security guard refuses entry and checks the work order first. The technical contact on duty knows nothing of a fault and has not called anyone out. What happens when the alarm goes off? Alarm follow-up explained

It is quarter past two in the morning when the alarm goes off at a wholesale warehouse on the outskirts of Almere. The owner is in bed at home and hears his phone ring. An unknown number.
